Venture Global lays plans for data centers next to LNG sites in Cameron, Plaquemines

CAMERON, La. (KPLC) - Venture Global is expanding power at its South Louisiana LNG sites, which would pave the way for adjacent data centers, the company announced in a news release.

Venture Global has LNG export terminals in Cameron and Plaquemines parishes and already runs on-site private power grids. The Virginia-based company is working with two energy technology companies to add power to these sites — enough to potentially run AI data centers.

Cameron Parish officials told 7News they were not aware of this development until the public announcement was made.

Mark Daigle, who represents District 5 on the Cameron Parish Police Jury, said he first learned of the plans through a social media post.
