What is the Louisiana Launch Alliance?

Executive Director of The Louisiana Launch Alliance

Ten thousand new jobs.

A hundred billion dollars in investment.

Construction starting in months, not years.

Those are the headline numbers behind Starbase Louisiana and other forthcoming projects.

They’re the kind of numbers that stop you mid-scroll. Mind-blowing investments here in my home state of Louisiana. WOW!

Hi, I'm Melissa Campbell. I solve marketing problems for a living. It’s nice to meet you. After I recover from the shock, I immediately think. Numbers that big don't build themselves.

Somebody has to pour the concrete, haul the materials, staff the trades, write the insurance, and keep the books straight while it all happens at a pace most companies have never had to operate at EVER.

That's the part of this story that doesn't make headlines. And it's the part I care about most.

The gap between the announcement and the work

When a project this size lands in a state, a predictable rush follows. EVERYONE wants in. Contractors, suppliers, staffing agencies, logistics companies — all of them scrambling to figure out who the decision-makers are, who's already got a foot in the door, and how to get their name in front of the right person before the window closes.

Some will figure it out. Most won't, not because they aren't capable of doing the work, but because they're trying to navigate a project this size without a network built for it.

I've spent my career building my 20-year-old marketing business and fractional marketing for numerous other businesses around a simple idea:

Growth doesn't happen because a company is talented…IT DOESN’T.

It happens because a company is positioned—visible to the right people, connected to the right partners, ready when the opportunity shows up. It’s about people and preparation.

That's true for a single business. It's just as true for an entire region trying to absorb a hundred billion dollars in new activity.

Okay, now... what in the world is the Louisiana Launch Alliance?

So glad you asked.

Louisiana Launch Alliance (LLA) is a referral network built specifically around the companies that will build Starbase Louisiana, and other projects like it. General and heavy civil contractors, logistics and heavy-haul trucking, skilled trades staffing agencies, and the banking, CPA, and industrial insurance firms that support them.

We're forming a founding cohort now, with one exclusive seat per trade category. That structure is intentional. This isn't a room full of competitors hoping to out-hustle each other for the same scraps of work. It's a curated group of Louisiana businesses, one per lane, who can send each other real opportunities, vouch for each other's work, and move together as the project scales.

Founding members get priority introductions and early access to Starbase-related work as the region's contractor ecosystem takes shape—the kind of access that's nearly impossible to build on your own once a project of this size is already in motion.

Why now? Another good question.

Projects like this don't wait for the local economy to catch up. The window to establish relationships, prove reliability, and become the first call for a category of work is opening NOW…yes, while the ecosystem is still forming. In a year or two, those relationships will already be set.

I started Louisiana Launch Alliance because I didn't want Louisiana companies to watch this happen from the Sidelines.

This state-my home has the best and the brightest. We HAVE the contractors, the trades, and the service firms capable of doing this work at the highest level.

What's been missing is the connective tissue, the network that gets the right Louisiana business in front of the right opportunity at the right time.

That's what we're building. If your company falls into one of our founding categories, please request an invite before your category is filled. Thanks for reading, and we can’t wait to hear from you!
